My rant on Piracy, because I'm tired of paying $60 to be a beta tester (short version)

Hey game developers, don't want me* people to pirate your games?

THEN STOP PUTTING OUT SHITTY GAMES THAT AREN'T WORTH MY 60 DOLLARS!!!

Sorry game companies, but if you think I'm going to continue shelling out $60+ for games that are filled with more bugs than a mausoleum or last only 6-to-8 hours, then you are clearly on some illegal substances. Telling the consumer to "save more" or forcing them to wait for a patch to fix mistakes that should have been picked up by a beta tester is complete and utter bullshit. It's the same as a car dealer selling someone a lemon and then charging them to fix the car.

Want people to buy games? Then start making enjoyable games. And by "enjoyable games", I don't mean ten thousand Call of Duty rip-offs Or Final Fantasy Duex Ex XXIIIXIX. Is it too much to ask for some new IPs, and not just sequel after sequel? Oh, and quit with the HD remakes, especially when said game has been "re-made" (read: ported) ten billions times. I'm talking 'bout you Resident Evil 4.

Also, if piracy = stealing, then buying used games from a yard sale also equals stealing. Hell, buying used at all is basically the same as stealing, especially if you're buying from Gamestop. Or do people actually believe that the game companies are benefitting from places like Gamestop?

Protip: If they were, gaming companies wouldn't be putting so much interest in digital downloads (which will make things easier to pirate. Go gaming companies!)

Oh, and one last thing, stop comparing piracy to beating up old ladies and stealing cars. Comparing a person downloading a movie or video game to a violent mugger or carjacker? Stay classy, mofos~

* No, I am not a pirate. Don't hit on me you silly coppers~
